Questions & answers
Everything you want to know before your party
From ordering to the very last song: Wolfgang answers the most common questions about DJfy.
The basics
Do my guests need Spotify or a login?
No. Open the party URL or scan the QR code – done. Only you as the host need Spotify Premium.
Can I use DJfy without Spotify Premium?
Unfortunately not. Spotify Premium is needed so DJfy can queue songs into your playback.
Does DJfy work with Apple Music or YouTube Music?
Not at the moment – DJfy is built for Spotify.
What equipment do I need?
A device with Spotify Premium – phone, laptop or smart speaker – and a sound system or speaker. DJfy only controls the queue in your Spotify: no DJ controller or extra hardware needed.
How many guests can take part?
As many as you are – there’s no limit. The more people join in, the livelier the request list gets.
Which languages is the guest page available in?
German, English, Italian, French, Polish and Dutch – so international guests can join in too.
Can guests see who requested which song?
No. Everyone can see the list, but without names.
Getting ready
How long does it take to get my access?
Usually about 24 hours before the party time you enter when ordering. Then you just connect your Spotify Premium and you’re ready.
How long is my party active?
The whole party night – and a little more. You get your access about 24 hours before the party starts, so you can set everything up and test it at your own pace. From then on your DJ area keeps running, through the entire celebration until 12 noon the next day. So you never have to keep an eye on the clock during the party.
Do I have to upload my prepared Spotify playlist to DJfy?
No, you don’t. You prepare a playlist in Spotify as usual and start it – as long as nobody requests anything, that playlist simply keeps playing. When a guest requests a song and it reaches your vote limit, DJfy automatically plays it next. Then your playlist carries on. There’s nothing to upload or transfer.
What about the internet at the venue?
Please make sure of this: DJfy only works with an internet connection. Your guests need Wi-Fi or mobile data, and the device playing Spotify must be online too. Ideally, test the connection at the venue beforehand.
How do my guests get to the party page?
Via your own party URL or the QR code: printed on the tables, shared in your guest group chat or shown big on the projector. No app or login needed.
Can I test DJfy before the party?
Of course! Any time with the 30-minute trial – and with your own access from about 24 hours before the party.
Can it still work tonight?
Sometimes, but not reliably. Every party is set up individually – ideally, order at least 24 hours in advance.
During the party
What happens if no song gets enough votes?
Your Spotify playlist simply keeps playing. DJfy only steps in when a request reaches your vote limit.
Can I block unsuitable songs?
Your guests can request anything that’s on Spotify – unfortunately Spotify doesn’t offer a filter for explicit songs or specific genres. But you always have the final say: remove unsuitable requests in the DJ area with one click, and with a higher vote limit only songs that lots of people really want get played.
What can I show on a projector or TV?
The Barview: it shows the current song, the live ranking of requests and a QR code to join in – best in landscape on a large screen.
Does DJfy work alongside a band or DJ?
Yes, really well – for example when the band or DJ has finished and the party should keep going, or already during the reception.
What if something doesn’t work during the party?
Ideally, test everything calmly the day before – that’s why you get your access about 24 hours in advance. And if something does go wrong during the party, you can reach us personally via WhatsApp.
Ordering & payment
How much does DJfy cost – is there a subscription?
A Party Pass costs €29 for one party – a one-off payment, no subscription and no hidden costs. You can try DJfy for free for 30 minutes first.
Can I use the Party Pass for several parties?
One Party Pass is valid for one party. For your next party, simply get a new one.
How can I pay?
By credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal – depending on your country also with EPS, iDEAL, Bancontact or Przelewy24.
What if the date changes or the party is cancelled?
Just write to us: if only the date changes, we move your party in the system. And if it’s something else, get in touch with the DJfy team – we’ll find a solution together.
